Sarah Barkway was brought up in Kentmere and went to Casterton School. After graduating from the London College of Music and Middlesex University, she taught music in England and in the Bahamas, before returning to Cumbria in 2001. Currently, she is employed by the Cumbria Music Service and teaches flute and curriculum music. Sarah has played in the West London Sinfonia, the Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Lakeland Sinfonia. Sarah is also a member of various chamber ensembles and has given solo performances locally and at Government House in Nassau, Bahamas.
